End grain cutting boards are the standard in professional kitchens for a reason. When a knife meets an end grain surface, it slides between the wood fibres rather than cutting across them — which means the board is gentler on your knives and naturally self-healing over time. Marks close up rather than accumulating.

This board is handcrafted in our Burlington, Ontario workshop from carefully selected walnut. Each one is unique — the listing is for the exact board shown in the photos, so what you see is precisely what you get.

What makes it special:

  • End grain construction — easier on knife edges, more durable over time
  • Handcrafted in Burlington, Ontario from premium walnut
  • Natural self-healing surface — knife marks close with use and oiling
  • Finished with food-safe mineral oil and Board Butter
  • Rubber feet to prevent slipping on the counter
  • Backed by our lifetime guarantee

Not dishwasher safe. Oil regularly with food-grade mineral oil or our Board Butter to maintain the surface and prevent drying. Full care instructions →

Frequently asked questions:

What's the difference between end grain and edge grain? End grain boards are cut so the ends of the wood fibres face up — this creates a self-healing surface that's gentler on knife edges. Edge grain boards show the long face of the plank. End grain is the more premium construction and what you'll find in professional butcher blocks.

Why is this board sold out so often? Each board is made individually from a selected piece of walnut — we don't batch produce them. When one sells, we make the next one. If you'd like to be notified when one is available, sign up for our email list or get in touch directly.

How do I maintain it? Oil it with food-grade mineral oil or our Board Butter once a month, or whenever it starts to look dry or pale. Wash by hand — never in the dishwasher. Full instructions in our Wood Care Guide.
